Dynamic Yield snags spot on Crain’s 2021 list of Best Places to Work in NYC
For a fourth year, Dynamic Yield has been named one of the Best Places to Work in NYC by Crain’s for our ability to continue to grow and nurture employees while addressing shifts in workplace culture.
There’s no burying the lede with this one.
I’m extremely excited to share that today, Crain’s & Best Places Group announced that Dynamic Yield has been named a Best Place to Work in New York City for a fourth year.
Work and the future of work look vastly different than they did 18 months ago, and after doing what we could in the first few months following the onset of the pandemic to address employee needs in a reactive way, our organization and leadership have implemented more strategic processes and policies over the past year to better support and position our team for the long-term.
Yes, we still have a beautiful Flatiron office, but now, it serves as a home base for our hybrid work model. Teams have the space to connect in-person as needed and the flexibility to work from home as they please. We still celebrate our wins together in person, toasting to news like our Gartner Magic Quadrant placement or exciting product launches as a unit, making sure no milestone goes unnoticed.
More notably, we understand how these dramatic changes to life can impact our employees. And while times may no longer feel “unprecedented,” navigating so much constant change can be challenging, which is why we’ve prioritized mental health and wellness programs, extending additional benefits and stipends to every employee. We’ve also allocated budgets for each team member – existing or incoming – to deck out their workspace with whatever they need to maximize comfort and improve their work-from-home setup. This includes ensuring folks opting into the hybrid model are never burdened with having to transport equipment and supplies back and forth between the office and their homes.
As our employees have adjusted and settled into remote or hybrid work, we’ve seen many able to acclimate and remain focused on career growth and development. To meet this interest, our HR organization has implemented more strategic and transparent growth models, ensuring all employees have opportunities to advance and fine-tune their skills, staying on pace with their near- and long-term professional goals. In addition to career growth, we’ve also continued to host programming and collaborative workshops about bigger cultural conversations in order to grow as people. From book clubs to Pride Month events, our NYC team has been able to connect virtually or in person for hands-on activities and enriching discussions to better understand one another and celebrate our shared and unique identities.
We’ve also rolled out new programming to ensure all employees have more face-to-face time with senior leadership. We’ve continued to grow as an organization rapidly over the past year, and while the onboarding process exposes new hires to executives, department heads, and team members, we wanted to make sure this access extends beyond just the first few months. We recently rolled out intimate sessions where small, cross-department groups can express their views on the organization, suggest changes, or reaffirm the value of existing processes, and will be using the ideas and topics covered to inform additional ways to grow our refine our company culture.
Crain’s New York Business, in partnership with Best Companies Group, surveyed 20,000+ employees across New York for its 14th annual report, sizing up organizations based on work environment, employee engagement, satisfaction, benefits, and corporate culture. Employees at surveyed organizations fill out a robust questionnaire anonymously, which is then evaluated and scored to establish the list of 100 winning companies. This year, we’re proud to be listed alongside a number of leading New York organizations, including Bombas, Frame.io, Greenhouse, Monday.com, MongoDB, and Orchard.
I’d be lying if I said the past year has been easy; but I’m thankful for the wide-eyed, talented, and honest team who nurture and support one another, never shy away from feedback, and have been continuing to do great work at Dynamic Yield. As we look ahead to the winter and 2022, we will continue to ensure that our organization promotes a healthy work culture and is an enriching home for all 250+ members of our global organization. So hats off to our entire team – we are so proud to work with you.
